The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines will be meeting for the 108th time on Saturday at the “The Big House” Michigan Stadium in the west Detroit suburb of Detroit.

Game time is 12 noon and will be televised nationally by ABC.

Ohio State is 6-5 overall and 3-4 in the Big Ten Leaders Division. Michigan is 9-2 overall and 5-2 in the Big Ten Legends Division.

The Wolverines leads the overall series against Ohio State with 57 wins, 43 losses and six ties. Ohio State has won the past seven consecutive games in the series. Over the past 60 years, dating back to the the 1951 season, Woody Hayes’ first year and the start of a 28-year run as head coach, the Buckeyes lead the series 31-26-2.

In winning seven straight games over Michigan, OSU has won nine of the past 10 games in the series dating to 2000. Prior to that streak, Michigan had won 13 of the previous 18 games in the series with one tie, dating back to the 1983 season.

Ohio State first-year coaches have not done well in this game as Luke Fickell is in his inaugural season. Overall the coaches are 5-10-2 vs. the Wolverines. Sam Willaman in 1929, Francis Schmidt 1934, Carroll Widdoes 1944, Earle Bruce 1979 and Jim Tressel 2001 are the only Ohio State coaches who won in their debut game against Michigan.

As far as both teams having first year head coaches in this game, Saturday’s game will only mark the the third time in the series history this will occur. Luke Fickell and Michigan coach Brady Hoke are each in their first seasons. In 1887 Gustave Ferbert’s Michigan team beat David F. Edwards’ Buckeyes, 34-0 in Ann Arbor. In 1929, Sam Willaman’s Buckeyes’ shutout Harry Kipke’s Wolverines, 7-0 also at Ann Arbor.

Fickell is OSU’s 23rd head coach while Hoke is Michigan’s 19th.
