Kansas Speedway has generally been kind to driver Kevin Harvick.

He started on the pole at the Kansas City, Kansas track last October and won the race.

He is back at the pole at the 1.5-mile oval after posting a track qualifying record of 194.252. This will be his second pole of the season.

Tonight’s 7 pm race is the 5-Hour Energy 400 and will have Joey Logano starting second. Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards and Kyle Larson three through five.

The rest of the Top 10 in order, Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Danica Patrick and Greg Biffle. Patrick has qualified tweeks in a row in the Top-10.

Harvick has two wins during the 2014 season and won at Darlington from the pole.

NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer was ready for the 2012 season when it came to sponsorship money, but he did not have a contract agreement to continue working for Richard Childress Racing.

Bowyer was not worried because he felt somebody would need his talents.

He took his talents and sponsorship money with him to Michael Waltrip Racing and was given a three-year contract to drive the number 15 car next season.

The lead-sponsor, 5-hour Energy, will be on-board for 24 races starting with the Daytona 500. They’ll have to find sponsors for the other 12 races.
