COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2019 LifeSports Spring Game, presented by Nationwide, will take place this Saturday, April 13, at 12 noon at Ohio Stadium. The forecast, as of today, is calling for fine, spring-like temps in the mid-60s and partly sunny skies. And no rain!

Won’t be playing with a full deck
The stadium capacity will be set at 76,000 – and we’re over 65,000 tickets distributed now – with construction and renovation taking place in the north end of C Deck. Some tickets are still available at http://go.osu.edu/19FBSpringGameTix.

General admission prices are $5, plus there will be a limited number of $15 reserved club seats. Applicable service charges may apply.

Children under the age of 6 are free in the general admission areas only. Current OSU students get in free with a valid OSU ID. Gates open at 10 a.m.

Game mechanics
The game will feature a Scarlet and a Gray team getting after each other through four, 10-minute quarters. The second half will feature a running clock. There will be no live kicking, except for extra points and field goals. The football will be put in play at the 35 after the initial coin toss and all subsequent scores. All punts will be fair caught.

Quarterbacks will be “off limits” and wearing black jerseys.

On the air: BTN & WBNS 97.1
The spring game will be televised by the Big Ten Network with Brandon Gaudin, James Laurinaitis and Bobby Carpenter describing the action. The game can also be heard on Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan, and select stations around the state on the Ohio State IMG Sports Network, with veteran Buckeye announcers Paul Keels and Jim Lachey on the call.

More than one shining moment
Ohio State’s two first-team All-Americans this past season, center Michael Jordan and defensive tackle Dre’mont Jones, will be honored during the first timeout of the first quarter. Members of the 2018 team will receive their Big Ten/Rose Bowl championship rings in between the first and second quarters. Former Buckeyes, including current NFL Buckeyes, attending the game will be recognized in the second quarter.

Ohio State vs. Michigan
The Ohio State baseball team will be hosting Michigan Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bill Davis Stadium. Use your spring game ticket stub plus $1 dollar to get into the baseball stadium and root, root, root for the home team … while tickets last. The two teams close out the series Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

Ohio State’s softball team will also be hosting Michigan this weekend. Saturday’s start time is also 2 p.m. Sunday’s finale first pitch will be 1 p.m. The games are free to attend.
