TCU Postgame Notes: Buckeyes 40 Horned Frogs 28

Team Notes
* TCU had its first game with a 50-yard pass (51-yard touchdown, Shawn Robinson to TreVontae Hights) and a 50-yard rush (93-yard touchdown, Darius Anderson) since a 52-45 win at Kansas State in 2015.

* The Horned Frogs had three quarterback hurries, two by Ben Banogu and one by Ty Summers. In its opening two games, Ohio State allowed just one quarterback hurry.

* Over the last five seasons, TCU’s 42-14 overall record ranks second in the Big 12.

* TCU lost for the first time in seven games when College GameDay was present for its game.

* TCU is now 5-2 versus Big Ten opponents under head coach Gary Patterson.

* TCU dropped to 5-6 in its last 11 games versus teams ranked in the top five nationally.

* TCU had its third scoring drive under a minute this season. TCU has had one in each game in 2018.

* TCU fell to 44-18 in road and neutral-site games since 2009, the third-best mark nationally.

* TCU dropped to 38-13 on the road since 2009, the nation’s fourth-best record in that stretch.

* TCU ran for 203 yards and is now 89-6 when totaling at least 200 yards on the ground under Patterson.

* The Horned Frogs played at AT&T Stadium for the fifth time in the last nine seasons and are 2-3.

* TCU scored for the 323rd consecutive game. It’s the nation’s second-longest current streak and fourth all-time in NCAA history. The Horned Frogs haven’t been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991, at Texas (32-0).

* TCU and Ohio State met for the seventh time in their history, and first since 1973, with the Buckeyes holding a 5-1-1 series lead.

* TCU’s team captains were Ben BanoguKellton HollinsCordel Iwuagwu and Ty Summers.

* The Horned Frogs’ honorary captains were TCU All-Americans Jack Spikes and LaDainian Tomlinson. Spikes scored a touchdown in TCU’s 1957 win at Ohio State, while Tomlinson was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame last year and now serves on TCU’s Board of Trustees.

* TCU wore a black jersey with black pants and a purple helmet.

Individual Notes
Darius Anderson’s 93-yard second quarter scoring run was the longest rushing play in TCU history, bettering the previous mark of 89 yards by LaDainian Tomlinson versus UTEP in 2000 and San Jose State in 1999.

* Anderson’s 93-yard touchdown run tied for the fourth-longest play from scrimmage in TCU history.

* Anderson’s 93-yard touchdown run was the longest play from scrimmage allowed by Ohio State in its history.

* Anderson’s 93-yard scoring run was also the longest rushing play for a college game in AT&T Stadium’s history.

* Anderson added a 16-yard third-quarter scoring run.

* With 154 yards on 12 carries, Anderson had his fourth career 100-yard rushing game. It was the second-best rushing game of his career, surpassed only by his 160 yards in last season’s 44-31 win at Oklahoma State last season.

* Anderson’s two touchdown runs gave him his first game with multiple rushing scores since he ran for three touchdowns in last season’svictory at No. 6 Oklahoma State.

* Anderson now has 11 career rushing touchdowns, most among current Horned Frogs.

Shawn Robinson posted career highs in completions (24), attempts (40) passing yards (308) and total offense (315).

Sewo Olonilua’s 6-yard first quarter scoring run was his first of the season and ninth of his career.

* Olonilua set a career-high with 14 carries.

Jalen Reagor’s seven receptions for 98 yards marked a career high. His 42-yard reception was his longest of the season.

TreVontae Hights’ 51-yard touchdown reception was his third career scoring grab on five catches. His 6-yard reception earlier in the game is his only reception under 42 yards.

Dylan Thomas caught two passes in his season debut, including a career-long 34 yard reception in the fourth quarter.

* Left tackle Anthony McKinney made his first career start.

Austin Myers started at right guard after starting at left tackle the opening two games.

Innis Gaines set career-highs with his team-best nine tackles and 3.5 stops for loss. The 3.5 tackles for loss were the most by a Horned Frog since Mat Boesen had 5.5 in last year’s regular-season finale versus Baylor.

Garret Wallow posted a career-high eight tackles.

Alec Dunham had his first career sack.

Ty Summers made his 27th career start, most among current Horned Frogs. He returned to linebacker after starting the opening two games at defensive end.

Adam Nunez had two punts downed at or inside the 10-yard line. Over the last two games, seven of his punts have been downed at or inside the 10.
