BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets fell for the fourth consecutive game and were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  The road team won five of six games in the series.  The Capitals advance to the second round to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
  • Columbus was two-for-three (66.7%) on the penalty kill and killed off five-of-seven (71.4%) in the final two games of the series.
  • The Blue Jackets outshot the Capitals 38 to 28.
  • Columbus finished the game with 30 wins on 55 faceoffs (54.5%), including 25-of-40 in the final 40 minutes (62.5%).
  • The Blue Jackets recorded 26 hits while the Capitals finished with 21.
  • The Jackets averaged 19,133 fans in the three home games in the series after 18,667 patrons attended Game 6.

 

BLUE JACKETS PLAYER/COACH NOTES

  • Nick Foligno scored his first two goals of the playoffs and his first career postseason multi-goal game.  He finished the series with 2-1-3.
  • Pierre-Luc Dubois scored his second goal of the playoffs and finished the series with 2-2-4.
  • LW Matt Calvert recorded his first assist of the playoffs and notched 3-1-4 this postseason, including 2-1-3 in the final two games of the series.  His three goals in a series are tied for the most by any Blue Jackets player in a single playoffs in franchise history.
  • Ian Cole recorded an assist for the second-straight game and led all Columbus skaters with three blocked shots.
  • Ryan Murray notched his first point of the postseason with the primary assist on Foligno’s first goal. He blocked two shots and recorded one takeaway.
  • Boone Jenner recorded his second assist of the playoffs and finished the series with 1-2-3.
  • RW Oliver Bjorkstrand picked up a point for the second-straight game with an assist on Foligno’s second goal and finished the series with 1-2-3.
