Basketball Buckeyes handle Wooster 88-63 to begin Chris Holtmann era

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s basketball team topped Wooster, 88-63, in an exhibition Sunday afternoon at Value City Arena. The contest was the Buckeyes’ first under the direction of first-year head coach Chris Holtmann. The 45-year-old came from Butler University to replace long-time OSU coach Thad Matta this past summer.

The Scots, who play in the Division III North Coast Athletic Conference, cut the lead to 15 at 48-33 in the second half at the 15:48 mark. However, the more talented Buckeyes blew the game open with a 19-3 run to open up a 67-36 advantage and that was the game.
