TEAM NOTES

Ola Kamara tallied his 16th goal of the 2017 MLS regular season in tonight’s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Kamara scored in the 19th minute after receiving a cross from midfielder Kekuta Manneh. With the strike, Kamara equaled his goal output from the 2016 regular season in which he scored 16 goals in 25 appearances (20 starts). Additionally, Ola Kamara’s goal ties him with Kei Kamara for ninth place in the Black & Gold all-time regular-season scoring charts with 32 goals. This year, Kamara has made 30 regular-season appearances (29 starts) and is currently the leading scorer for the Black & Gold in the 2017 MLS regular season with 16 goals, ahead of Justin Meram (11 goals) and Federico Higuain (nine goals).

Midfielder Kekuta Manneh tallied Crew SC’s second goal in tonight’s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, scoring from outside the box in the 63rd minute. Manneh also provided the assist on Ola Kamara’s 19th-minute goal, his third helper of the 2017 MLS regular season. In addition to his goal and his assist, Manneh played 70 minutes and had three shots on target, created one chance and made two tackles. In 2017, Manneh has made 15 regular-season appearances (nine starts), scoring four goals and providing three assists.

In tonight’s match, midfielder Wil Trapp provided the helper on Kekuta Manneh’s 63rd-minute goal. This was Trapp’s fifth regular-season assist of 2017, a new career-high for the midfielder whose previous career-high of four assists came in the 2014 regular season. In 2017, Trapp has made 30 regular-season appearances (30 starts), registering five assists.

Today’s draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC brought Crew SC’s undefeated streak to six matches (3-0-3), dating back to a 3-1 win against the Chicago Fire at MAPFRE Stadium on August 12. Over that span, Crew SC has outscored its opponents 10-5.

With the draw in today’s match, Crew SC brings its 2017 regular-season record to 13-12-5.
