Blue Jackets continue to juggle their roster

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forwards Zac Dalpe and Liam Foudy, as well as added goaltender Cam Johnson to the roster on emergency conditions, from the taxi squad, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.  In addition, defenseman Scott Harrington has been assigned to the team’s taxi squad.

Dalpe, 31, has posted 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points with 36 penalty minutes in 141 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks and Carolina Hurricanes since making his League debut in 2010-11.  The 6-2, 194-pound center has recorded 0-1-1 and 13 penalty minutes in 13 career contests with the Blue Jackets from 2017-19.  A native of Paris, Ontario, he has added 151-134-285, 185 penalty minutes and a cumulative +17 plus/minus rating in 383 career AHL games, including 3-1-4 and five penalty minutes in five outings with Cleveland in 2020-21.  Originally selected by Carolina in the second round, 45th overall, at the 2008 NHL Draft, Dalpe was claimed off waivers by Columbus on Feb. 27, 2017.

Foudy, 21, has collected 0-3-3, two penalty minutes and an “even” plus/minus rating in 12 games with the Blue Jackets this season.  He has recorded 0-4-4, two penalty minutes and is +1 in 14 career games with the club since making his NHL debut in 2019-20.  The 6-2, 193-pound forward has added 1-3-4 and a +2 plus/minus rating in four games with the Monsters in 2020-21.  The Scarborough, Ontario native was selected by the Blue Jackets in the first round, 18th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.

Johnson, 26, has gone 11-16-5 with a 3.80 goals-against average, .873 save percentage and one shutout in 32 career AHL games with the Binghamton Devils and 23-11-2 with a 2.28 GAA, .926 SV% and five shutouts in 38 career ECHL contests since 2018.  The Troy, Michigan native signed a one-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract with Columbus on Jan. 9, 2021 and has posted a 6-1-0 record with a 1.77 GAA, .941 SV% and two SO in seven games with the ECHL’s Florida Everblades this season.

Harrington, 28, has recorded 1-2-3 and four penalty minutes in six games with Columbus this season.  The Kingston, Ontario native has notched 7-30-37 and 69 penalty minutes in 197 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins since making his League debut in 2014-15.  Originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the second round, 54th overall, at the 2011 NHL Draft, the 6-2, 206-pound blueliner was acquired by Columbus in a trade from Toronto on June 25, 2016.
