CBJ acquires center Jordan Schroeder from Minnesota Wild

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired center Jordan Schroeder from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for center Dante Salituro, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

 

Schroeder, 26, has recorded 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points with 10 penalty minutes and a +9 plus/minus rating in 144 career NHL games with the Wild and Vancouver Canucks since making his NHL debut in 2012-13.  He has added 77-118-195 in 292 career AHL games with the Iowa Wild, Utica Comets, Chicago Wolves and Manitoba Moose.

The Prior Lake, Minnesota native registered 6-7-13 and was +5 in 37 games with Minnesota in 2016-17, setting career highs in goals, assists, points and games played. He added 6-12-18 and 12 penalty minutes in 25 games with Iowa.
Originally Vancouver’s first round selection, 22nd overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft, Schroeder collected 22-51-73, 43 penalty minutes and was +10 in 72 career games in two seasons at the University of Minnesota from 2008-10.  He was named the 2008-09 WCHA Rookie of the Year and was selected to the Second All-Star Team after posting 13-32-45 in 35 games.  The 5-9, 179-pound forward has represented the United States at several international tournaments, including the 2008, 2009 and 2010 IIHF World Junior Championships.
