COLUMBUS — Columbus Crew SC (7-8-1, 22 points) travels to face Atlanta United FC (5-6-3, 18 points) at Bobby Dodd Stadium tomorrow, Saturday, June 17.The match kicks-off at 7:00 p.m. ET and is set to be televised regionally on The CW Columbus, Spectrum Sports and BCSN2, with Neil Sika and Dwight Burgess on the call. Coverage on The CW Columbus begins at 7:00 p.m. ET. Exclusively on Spectrum Sports and BCSN2, “Crew SC Matchday,” the pre-match show, begins at 6:30 p.m. ET, with “Crew SC Post-Match” immediately following the action. Saturday’s match also airs locally on the radio on CD102.5 FM in English, featuring simulcast audio from the television broadcast. Tomorrow’s match is the first regular-season meeting between Crew SC and Atlanta United FC as well as the first of two regular-season matches between the Eastern Conference sides in 2017. The second matchup takes place on Saturday, July 1 when Columbus hosts Atlanta at MAPFRE Stadium. The Black & Gold defeated Atlanta United FC, 2-1, earlier this year during a preseason match in the Carolina Challenge Cup on February 18, with midfielder Federico Higuain scoring both goals for Crew SC.

The Black & Gold hold an all-time regular-season record of 7-2-4 in first matches against MLS expansion sides. Over the course of those 13 matches, the Black & Gold have scored 25 goals while only allowing 12, for a goal difference of +13 goals.

Heading into the match against Atlanta United, forward Ola Kamara is one goal shy of reaching 25 goals for Crew SC in regular-season action. If he reaches the 25-goal tally, Kamara would become one of only four players on Crew SC’s current roster to have scored 25 goals or more for the club, along with Federico Higuain (45), Justin Meram (32) and Ethan Finlay (30). Kamara has made 41 regular-season appearances (35 starts) for the Black & Gold since joining the club in February of 2016. In 2017, Kamara has scored eight goals in 16 regular-season appearances (15 starts) and is the co-leading goal scorer for the club along with midfielder Justin Meram.

Justin Meram currently leads MLS in dribbles with 40 dribbles completed through 16 matches. Meram also leads the League in attempted dribbles with 96 attempts. To date, Meram has made 170 regular-season appearances (118) starts for Crew SC, registering 32 goals and 32 assists in that span. This season, Meram has scored eight goals, already matching his career-high single-season goal output from 2014.
