The 20-year-old Wie began her round on Number 10 and birdied five of her first seven holes. She then made an uphill putt on Number 18 for an eagle on the 515-yard par 5.

She made a tap-in birdie on Number 2 to move up to 8 under for the day through 11 holes. Wie won in August at the Canadian Women’s Open.

Sunday, Wie will be trying to hold off 50-year-old Juli Inkster, the Hall of Fame golfer trying to become the oldest player to win on the LPGA Tour.
