McMurray wins NASCAR Nationwide race in Atlanta

Jamie McMurray took the lead for good on the final restart and held off Kyle Busch to win the Great Clips 300 Nationwide Series race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in the suburb of Hampton, Georgia.

Busch was trying to become the first driver in the 28-year history of the Nationwide Series to win 11 races in a season, fell short in his attempt to catch McMurray late in the race. Busch will have to wait another week to win his 11th victory of the season.

Busch fell from first to third as McMurray took the lead coming out of pit row following the final caution flag on the 167th lap of 195.

Busch led the most laps in the race and finished second with Carl Edwards placing third. Kevin Harvick was fourth followed by Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano.

McMurray, who raced to his first Nationwide Series win in Atlanta in 2002, won for the first time since Darlington in 2004. He has won twice on the Sprint Cup circuit this year.
