Jason Day leads Deutsche Bank tourney in Boston

While the rest of the United States working force enjoys a day of relaxation and barbecuing, the world’s best golfers will be playing golf in the Deutsche Bank Championship in the Boston suburb of Norton, Massachusetts.

Jason Day has a one-shot lead going into the final round, the only scheduled Monday finish on the PGA Tour.

Jason Day (PGA)

Day shot a 5-under-par 66 and tied the 54-hole record at the TPC Boston of 17-under 196.

There are other scenarios surrounding this tournament than just winning it.

Steve Stricker and Phil Mickelson have a chance to get to Number 1 in the world rankings for the first time in their careers.

Tiger Woods is 10 shots out of the lead after a 69 in the third round on Sunday. He only needs to be in the top 24 to keep his Number 1 ranking.

This is the 10th tournament in 2010 that Mickelson has had a mathematical chance of replacing Woods at Number 1.
