DAYTON – The Wright State men’s basketball team once again welcomes a national television audience to the Nutter Center as the Raiders take on Youngstown State on ESPNU, with tipoff set for 9 p.m. Fans can follow the action several ways – via live stats, by watching on ESPNU and ESPN+ or by tuning in to the new home for Raider Basketball 101.5 HANK FM and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Justin Kinner will have all the play-by-play on the radio feed.
Fans can tune into 101.5 HANK FM live over the air in the Dayton metro area, as well stream the station live nationwide through a variety of free streaming apps. The iHeartRadio app, the TuneIn Radio app and the Audacy app are all FREE and each carry 101.5 HANK FM. Just search “101.5 HANK FM” on any of the three apps for Raider Basketball.
**Wright State has launched the Wright State Raiders app, allowing fans to stay up to date on Raider Basketball and all other sports. Fans are encouraged to use the Wright State Raiders app as the primary method for managing their digital tickets, which are required for entry to all WSU basketball events. Tickets for the 2023-24 basketball seasons are now uploaded and accessible on all purchaser accounts. Fans can easily view their tickets, download them to their mobile wallet, or transfer them to another individual account.**

Wright State closed January with another road win as four Raiders finished in double digits scoring and Brandon Noel tallied his sixth double-double of the season in an 83-76 victory at IUPUI on Sunday afternoon. Noel shot 50 percent from the floor as he pulled down 11 rebounds and added an assist and a block. Trey Calvin led all scorers with 27 points as he connected on five three-pointers and had five assists, while Tanner Holden finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. AJ Braun just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
HORIZON CALVIN
Trey Calvin was named the Horizon League Player of the week on Jan. 29 after a pair of 27-point performances in two road wins. He finished with huge second halves in both games, tallying just 13 of his 54 points for the week in the first 20 minutes of each contest while ending the two wins with a 60 percent shooting mark from the floor and was 18-of-21 from the free throw stripe. Calvin rounded out his weekly stat line with 12 assists, three rebounds, a block and a steal in 78 minutes of action.
PLAYIN’ PENGUINS
Wright State and Youngstown State will meet for the 69th time on Thursday night, with the Raiders holding a 50-18 lead in the all-time series. Youngstown State won the first-ever meeting on Jan. 29, 1977 (73-71) but the Raiders bounced back with a home win Jan. 28, 1978 (60-59) in the first of five straight wins early in the series. Alex Huibregtse finished with a game-high 20 points in the first meeting back on January 12, as he added five rebounds and four assists. Trey Calvin finished with 16 points of his own, while AJ Braun tallied 12 points and Tanner Holden finished with the night’s only double-double, chipping in 11 points and pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds.
YOUNGSTOWN TIDBITS
-Youngstown State is 16-6 overall with an 8-3 mark in the Horizon League. The Penguins are 11-1 at home but just 5-5 on the road, however they have two straight road wins, at Detroit Mercy (Jan. 20) and at IUPUI (Jan. 25).
NATIONALLY SPEAKING. . .
Wright State currently leads the nation with its 53.6 percent overall season shooting percentage. The Raiders’ Effective FG Percentage (58.9 percent) is No. 2 and the Scoring Offense (86.1) is No. 6. Individually, Trey Calvin is No. 11 nationally with 153 Field Goals made, while No. 28 nationally with 20.0 points per game scoring average and is No. 17 with his 89.6 percent Free Throw Percentage. Calvin’s 419 total points are No. 21, while Tanner Holden (366 total points) is No. 84. Holden’s 136 Field Goals made is No. 47 nationally.
SHARING THE LOVE
Wright State is currently averaging 16.4 assists per game, which is on pace for their highest average since the 1992-93 Raider team dished out 18.3 assists per game. In the last 30 years, the Raiders have averaged 15 or more assists for the season just three times — 15.0 last season, 15.4 in 2020-21 and 15.3 in 1995-96. The program record for assists is 20.4 in 1990-91. Trey Calvin leads the group with a 4.2 assists per game mark, while Tanner Holden is averaging 3.3 and Alex Huibregtse is at a 2.9 clip.
