Justin Rose wins AT&T National; Tiger finishes in a tie for 46th

compiled from staff, wire and PGA news

Golfer Justin Rose used to go to tournaments and hope that he would make the cut. After all, he missed 21 cuts in a row.

This year, he is better golfer, with a much improved confidence level.

At Aronimink Golf Course in the Philadelphia suburb of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, he won again. He won the Memorial Tournament a month ago in Dublin, Ohio.

Rose had a four-shot lead going into the final round of the AT&T National, then a five-shot lead when he made the turn after hitting 5-wood from 264 yards to tap-in range for an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole. Even when his margin was shrinking to a single shot for the last two holes, Rose held his composure and won by one-shot over Ryan Moore.

Tiger Woods’ victory drought continues.

With a 71 on Sunday, Woods failed to break par in four rounds of a regular PGA Tour event for the first time since the Bay Hill Invitational in 1999. He tied for 46th, his first finish outside the top 40 since the Players Championship in 2005.
