Guillermo Barros Schelotto scored in the 57th minute and assisted on Eric Brunner’s insurance goal 30 minutes later as the Crew beat D.C. United, 2-0, Saturday before 15,335 fans in Crew Stadium. The win snapped a three-game winless streak for the Crew, and ended a three-game unbeaten streak for D.C. United.

On Schelotto’s goal, Emilio Renteria took a through ball from Jason Garey and knocked it over onrushing D.C.  keeper Troy Perkins. Renteria’s chipped shot hit the post and fell to Schelotto, who was waiting for the rebound two yards off the line. He calmly settled the ball and fired it into the roof of the net for his team-leading fifth goal of the season.

In the 87th minute, Schelotto’s corner kick from the left flag was flicked at the near post by second-half substitution Steven Lenhart to the far post where Brunner headed it in for the defender’s second career goal.
