Back from injury rehab, Pak leads LPGA event in New York; Park retires on Friday

Se Ri Pak, the 34-year-old LPGA golf star from South Korea, had a nice return to the tour yesterday.

Playing for the first time since injuring her left shoulder in early April of this year, Pak shot a 1-under 71 to become the front-runner after the second round of the LPGA Championship in Pittsford, New York.

The shocker of the tournament on Friday was the retirement of Grace Park. The 33-year-old had some success on the LPGA Tour with six wins and a majors win, the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2004.

Pak is at a 3-under-par 141, one shot ahead of Inbee Park (70), Paula Creamer (72), Mika Miyazato (72) and Sandra Gal (71).
