The Centennial Stars under head coach Roosevelt Osborne is one of the top teams in the Columbus City League and in the area.

But when you play Northland, a team has to be perfect in all phases of basketball or they will get run out of the gym.

On Friday night in Centennial’s gym, the Vikings let their run-and-gun show go full tilt and ran the Stars out of their own gym, 97-60 in the City North Division.

Unbelievably, Northland has won 83 straight North Division games dating back to February of 2006.

Led by the Dayton Flyers recruits, Jalen Robinson and Devon Scott, the Vikings ran off to a 25-5 start in the opening period highlighted by eight dunk shots.

This Northland team at 13-1 overall, 10-0 in the City North is a different team under new coach Sean Taylor. The former Eastmoor Academy coach style of play has half-court pressure looking to get turnovers with Robinson and Scott playing the middle on passes that lead to fast breaks.

Robinson led the way with 28 points, nine rebounds; Jordan Potts scored 25 points and handed out five assists and Scott added 21 points and pulled down 12 boards.

Centennial at 10-4, 7-3 simply does not matchup with Northland at all. The Stars, one of the top teams in Division II, had several players out of practice and games during the past week with illnesses and injuries.
