Khalid Mutakabbir led a Presbyterian comeback from a 15-point deficit and knocked down the go-ahead three-point goal with 7.6 seconds to go Saturday, leading the Blue Hose to a 56-54 upset of the #20 Cincinnati Bearcats. It was the school’s biggest win in five years of playing Division I basketball.

Presbyterian College is a small, private liberal arts college from Clinton, South Carolina, from the Big South Conference with an enrollment of 1,300. They are considered a Division I mid-major school.

The Blue Hose improve to 3-2 while the Bearcats fall to 2-1.

PC trailed by 15 points halfway through the second half.

Mutakabbir matched his career-high with 25 points and he fueled the 24-7 run to end the game.

Cincinnati had the last shot of the game but Cashmere Wright’s shot was too hard and clanked off the rim as the Blue Hose celebrated at midcourt as the crowd of 4,960 at the Shoemaker Center booed the home team as they left the court.

The Bearcats were led by Sean Kilpatrick with 19 points.
