Dodgers blow out Reds 14-6

compiled by staff and wire reports

Rafael Furcal led the way as Los Angeles pounded the Reds all over Great American Ball Park.

The leadoff hitter drove in four runs with a  single, double and triple to highlight another hitting-clinic performance by the major’s best-hitting lineup Wednesday night in leading the Dodgers to a 14-6 win over Cincinnati. LA scored in all but one inning, a dominating performance from the top of the lineup to the bottom.

The Dodgers have a 23-5 record against the reds since 2006, their best record against any team in that span, according to STATS LLC.

Hiroki Kuroda (2-0) was the winner, Aaron Harang ( 0-3) was the loser.

The Dodgers came into the game with a .302 batting average that led the majors and five players hitting .320 or better. They piled up 18 hits and achieved their season high in runs.

Andre Ethier had a solo homer among his  three hits; Matt Kemp extended his hitting streak to 10 games with his seventh homer of the season and James Loney broke the game open with a bases-loaded single that made it 9-4 in the sixth inning.
