UC WR Alec Pierce, LB Joel Dublanko honored with AAC Weekly Award

CINCINNATI – Cincinnati wide receiver Alec Pierce and linebacker Joel Dublanko were both named to the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Honor Roll on Monday.

Pierce brought in five catches for 113 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati’s win over Tulsa on Saturday. This was his second 100-yard receiving game of the season, the other being a six-catch, 144-yard outing in the Bearcats’ win at Notre Dame on Oct. 2.

The senior has recorded 100 or more receiving yards five times during his career. This was his second-straight 100-yard game against Tulsa, going for 146 yards on five catches during the 2020 AAC Championship Game.

Dublanko set a career-high for tackles against the Golden Hurricane. The graduate student took down the ball-carrier 17 times on Saturday, which led the team. Dublanko’s previous career-high was 15 tackles, which he recorded just a few weeks ago when Cincinnati beat Navy on the road.

He has now recorded 10 or more tackles in three of the last four games and ranks second on the team with 7.5 tackles for loss.

Both performances helped lead the No. 2 Bearcats to a perfect 9-0 record on the year.
