Ohio Bobcats bomb arch-rival Marshall, 44-7

Everybody was expecting a close football game between the Marshall Thundering Herd and the Ohio Bobcats last weekend in Athens.

But it was anything but a close encounter as the Bobcats rolled 44-7. The Herd (1-2) have been winning this game recently, 12 0f the past 14 games, including 21-17 in the 2009 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl and 24-23 last season, and had not lost since 2000.

Ohio totaled 559 offensive yards, intercepted four passes, two fumble recoveries before a crowd of 24,244 fans at Peden Stadium.

The third-largest crowd in stadium history witnessed Ohio roll up a 34-7 halftime lead.

The Bobcats star of the game was quarterback Tyler Tettleton who completed 20 of 29 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns and ran 53 yards and one TD.

Other Ohio stars include cornerback Omar Leftwich who intercepted two passes and linebacker Nathan Carpenter recovered two fumbles.
