The University of Dayton men’s basketball team is on a four-game, 11-day European exhibition tour.

It is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for nearly all of the members of the team with the obvious exception of freshman Alex Gavrilovic, who will play his first games as a Flyer just hours away from his hometown of Strasbourg, France.

Before traveling to Paris, UD visited the France and the Normandy Beaches and Normandy Caen War Memorial.

The sightseeing itinerary will also include the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, a visit with soldiers and U.S. military families at an Army base and sightseeing tours in Paris of the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Seine.

The Flyers will return home on Thursday, August 18, six days before classes begin for the 2011-2012 school year on Wednesday, August 24.

The Flyers men’s basketball team overcame a five-point halftime deficit on Wednesday, August 10, to win their opening game of Dayton’s four-game European tour 70-66 against the Netherlands U-23 National Team.

Dayton trailed 37-32 at halftime, but outscored the Dutch 15-8 in the third quarter to turned the momentum of the game.
