PERFECT GAME for Clippers’ Germano in Syracuse

Justin Germano made history on Tuesday night as he became the first Columbus Clippers pitcher ever to throw a perfect game, shutting out the Syracuse Chiefs in New York, 3-0.

Germano had one of those games where every pitch he made worked to perfection. He retired the first twenty four batters he faced through eight innings.

In the bottom of the ninth, Germano faced the first hitter, Jhonaton Solano, who flew out to center field. Jeff Frazier then flew out to left field for out number two. The next hitter was centerfielder Corey Brown and Germano struck him out and the perfect game was put into the record books for ever!

The first Clippers perfect game and the first thrown in the International League since 2003. It is the sixth no-hitter in Clippers history.
