Clippers win streak reaches a rare Baker’s dozen

The Columbus Clippers win streak has reached the lucky number of 13 or a Baker’s dozen in an 8-2 win over the Charlotte Knights on Tuesday night. The Hometown Heroes are an IL-best 21-5 overall and have a 5-game lead over Louisville in the West Division.

The Clippers offense came up big in the win. Columbus scored 8 runs in the ball game with the big number coming in the top of the seventh when the Clippers put up a five in that inning. The run support was all Clippers righthanders Zach McAllister, who in his longest outing of the year, went eight innings giving up only two runs, all earned, on seven hits while striking out five and walking one. He is now 5-0 on the season.

The losing pitcher was Charlotte righthander Freddy Dolsi who drops to 0-3.

The Clippers went an unbelievable 8-0 on the road trip.
