Capitals’ Mantha fined by NHL for goalie interference

NEW YORK (May 22, 2021) –Washington Capitals forward Anthony Mantha has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for goaltender interference against Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins during Game 4 of the teams’ First Round series in Boston on Friday, May 21, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 13:29 of the third period. Mantha was assessed a minor penalty for goaltender interference.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
