Dayton forwards Chris Wright and Chris Johnson were the only flyers in double figure scoring, but that was just enough in defeating Western Carolina 71-60 Saturday night in UD Arena.

Wright equaled his career high 30 points, while Johnson scored 14 of his 15 points in the second half.

Western Carolina started out the game on a 5-0 run, but the Wright took the game over and got hot, scoring 12 of UD’s first 17 points.

In the second half, Wright and Johnson took control and put the team on their backs, scoring a combined 31 points of the team’s second half total of 44, making 10 of their 14 field goal attempts. UD shot .625 (15 0f 24) from the floor and .867 (13-15) from the line in the second half.
