The Columbus Blue Jackets tried to get their three-game road trip to Western Canada off to a good start, but to no avail despite a nice comeback try in Calgary, Alberta.

Jarome Iginla’s goal off a rebound shot at 3:49 of overtime, his second goal of the game, gave the Calgary Flames a 3-2 overtime win over the Jackets in the Scotiabank Saddledome before a crowd of 19,289.

Columbus fought back hard after falling behind in the first 4:25 of the game, with goals from Antoine Vermette, a short-hander in the second period and a power-play goal from Rick Nash with 4;19 remaining in the third period.

Goaltender Steve Mason was pulled by head coach Scott Arniel after allowing two goals on Calgary’s first four shots. Backup Mathieu Garon did a solid job in relief, stopping 20 of 21 shots.
