BLUE JACKETS PLAYER NOTES

  • G Elvis Merzlikins stopped 49 of 53 shots in the overtime loss.  He had his shutout streak snapped at a franchise playoffs-best 105:38 with a late third period Maple Leafs’ goal (Bobrovsky, 103:16; Apr. 19-21, 2014 vs. Pittsburgh).  He became the second goaltender to record a postseason assist in franchise history with his helper on Atkinson’s first period goal (Steve Mason, Game 4 vs. Detroit in 2009 ECQF).
  • RW Cam Atkinson got the Blue Jackets on the board with his second goal and team-leading fifth point of the postseason.  He has points in three of the four games against the Maple Leafs.
  • D Vladislav Gavrikov notched his first career playoffs goal/point (sixth game) with his second period tally.  He is the third rookie defenseman to score a postseason goal with Columbus, following Zach Werenski and Markus Nutivaara who both did so during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
  • C Boone Jenner notched his eighth-career postseason goal with his third period tally.  He trails only Atkinson (nine) for the most goals in franchise playoffs history.
  • C Pierre-Luc Dubois registered his first assist of the postseason and now has 3-1-4 over the last two nights.
