Wright State Men’s Basketball has clinched Top 2 spot in upcoming Horizon League Tournament

With its 106-66 win over IUPUI on Feb. 16, the Wright State men’s basketball team secured a double-bye to Indianapolis and the semifinals of the 2020 Horizon League Championship. The Raiders, who can finish no lower than second in the regular season standings, will automatically play in one of the semifinal contests on Monday night, March 9 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

The top two men’s and women’s teams in the regular season standings will earn their spots in the semifinals. The championship game will be played the following night, Tuesday, March 10. The remaining eligible teams will play in opening round and quarterfinal round games at campus sites on March 3 and 5 to round out the field that will play in Indianapolis.

This season will be the first at the new venue for the championships, as the event moves to Indianapolis and the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Events Center. The venue, which seats 6,800, is exactly two hours from the Wright State campus, while eight of ten schools are within five hours of Indianapolis.

Tickets are on sale now at or by calling the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office at 317-927-7601.

Both Monday’s semifinals and Tuesday’s championship will have two sessions – one session for women in the afternoon, and one session for men in the evening. There are a total of four sessions. Men’s games will be ticketed as both Reserved and General Admission while women’s games will be ticketed as General Admission only. Reserved seating is available for single sessions only. General Admission seating is available for both single-sessions and all-sessions.

The home and visiting team benches and cheering sections will be determined based on the final regular season standings. As the #1 or #2 seed, Wright State is guaranteed to be the home team on Monday. To sit with other Raider fans, we suggest you purchase Reserved seats in section 100 or 101, or sit directly behind those areas in General Admission seating. If Wright State advances to the championship on Tuesday, the Raider fan section will be determined by which team is the higher seed. If we’re the higher seeded team, our fan section will be section 101. If we are the lower seeded team, it will be section 117.

The Wright State women’s team is currently tied for second place with three games remaining. More information on the women’s side regarding venue and tickets will be released once their final seeding is known.
