#6 Ohio State 51 Indiana 10: Hoosier Players Quotes

Indiana Player Quotes
Peyton Hendershot, Tight End
On his touchdown…
“It was wide open. We had run it for a few weeks and we were thinking that the safety was going to be there, but it was literally just wide open. It was unreal. It was good to see it finally work out though.”

On moving forward after this loss…
“I think it’s good and it just shows us where we are, and it makes you practice harder throughout the week. I think some people got complacent and weren’t working as hard today. Every rep counts.”

Reakwon Jones, Linebacker
On IU’s biggest issues defensively against Ohio State…
“Tackles. We missed a lot of tackles. Communication. I don’t think effort was where it needed to be. Just overall a disappointing day. It’s not us. Just need to go back to the drawing board and get stuff fixed. Keep the guys’ confidence up. Take this one to the chin like a man and continue to go on, it’s a long season.”

On this not matching the expectation going in to the game…
“Not at all. They’re a great team. They’ve got great athletes, great coaches, you expect great things from them. But, I feel like we have great players, great coaches, great schemes, and just didn’t execute to the standard that we have created for ourselves out in practice, in camp, every day, and other games. Just wasn’t to our standards.”

Donavan Hale, Wide Receiver
On what makes OSU tougher competition…
“I feel like it’s the Big Ten. You know every opponent in the Big Ten. It’s a tough league, one of the best leagues in the nation. I just feel like they have a pretty good O-and-D-line, athletes all over the field.”

On if the receivers had any pressure to make plays…
“No pressure. Peyton’s (Ramsey) been our starting quarterback before so we didn’t have to do too much stuff different. We already had him, so we knew what it was like.”

Peyton Ramsey, Quarterback
On a sluggish start affecting the game…
“Yeah, I would say so. They did a good job of knocking us out of our rhythm early. We came out with a lot of confidence I think, especially in pre-game. This whole week we had a good week of prep, but they came out and punched us in the mouth. I believe it caught us off guard and knocked us out of our rhythm a little bit.”

On what the team is feeling and how do you move on…
“It’s frustrating. You know, you prepare all week, you have a really good week of prep. To go out and to play the way we did, it’s definitely disappointing. It’s a new week. The season is still so early, so young. We have so many more opportunities, so it’s just about coming back in on Monday and getting back in our groove. You know, leaders got to lead and continue to push them (teammates) through.”

On differential between a good week of practice and the game…
“They (Ohio State) just did a really good job. We didn’t execute early. I think that was probably the biggest thing. Two three-and-outs in the first two drives, I think that hurt us. They just did a really good job. Credit to them, obviously. From our standpoint, we just have to be better in our execution and I think that’s kind of what threw us off.”
