Week 3 in the NFL starts off with Thursday Night Feature Game: Titans at the Jaguars

Week 3 of the NFL’s 100th season gets underway on Thursday, September 19 (8:20 PM ET, NFL Network), as the Tennessee Titans travel to TIAA Bank Field to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in an early season AFC South showdown.

The Titans and Jaguars meet for the 49th time, with Tennessee holding the all-time series advantage 28-20, including wins in the past four meetings. In Week 14 of the 2018 season – another Thursday Night Football matchup – Tennessee running back DERRICK HENRY rushed for a franchise-record 238 yards and four touchdowns, including a 99-yard touchdown run in the Titans’ 30-9 victory over the Jaguars. His 99-yard touchdown run tied Pro Football Hall of Famer TONY DORSETT for the longest touchdown run in NFL history. Over the past 6 weeks, dating back to last season, Henry leads the NFL in rushing yards (750) and rushing touchdowns (nine).

Last week, Henry had 81 rushing yards and a touchdown in Tennessee’s Week 2 loss. He enters Thursday night with at least 80 rushing yards in six consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL. Quarterback MARCUS MARIOTA has five touchdowns and no interceptions over his past three road games, including throwing for three touchdowns and no interceptions with a 133.3 rating in Tennessee’s 43-13 Week 1 win at Cleveland. Rookie wide receiver A.J. BROWN leads the team with 125 receiving yards through the season’s first two weeks, second-most among AFC rookies. Cornerback LOGAN RYAN has an interception in each of the first two games of the season, while safety KEVIN BYARD’s 13 interceptions since 2017 are the most in the NFL during that span. Tennessee enters Week 3 leading the league with a +5 turnover differential.

Jacksonville rookie quarterback GARDNER MINSHEW comes into Thursday night off his first career start, throwing for 213 yards and a touchdown and rushing for a team-high 56 yards in the Jaguars’ Week 2 loss. The sixth-round draft choice saw his first action in Week 1, when he completed 88 percent of his passes (22 of 25), the highest completion percentage by a quarterback in his NFL debut in league history (minimum 15 attempts). He also completed his first 13 pass attempts, the longest streak to begin a career over the past 40 seasons. Wide receiver DJ CHARK enters the game as Jacksonville’s leading receiver, registering 201 yards and two touchdowns over the season’s first two weeks. Cornerback JALEN RAMSEY leads the Jaguars in interceptions (nine) and has the fourth-most passes defensed (45) in the NFL since entering the league in 2016.
