‘NFL 100 Greatest Series’ Premieres Friday September 13 at 8 PM ET with ‘NFL 100 Greatest Plays,’ Parts 1 and 2

Numbers 100 Through 31 Revealed Across Back-to-Back One-Hour Episodes​

Features Interviews with More Than 80 Celebrities, NFL Legends, Coaches and Current Players

 

NFL Network’s Friday night slate of NFL 100 programming kicks off this week with the premiere of the NFL 100 Greatest series at 8:00 PM ET with back-to-back one-hour episodes of NFL 100 Greatest Plays, Parts 1 and 2.

 

Over the two-hour block, numbers 100 through 31 of the greatest plays in NFL history are unveiled through NFL Films video and sound, intermixed with memories and recollections from celebrities, NFL Legends, coaches and current players on what made each moment one for the ages.

 

The NFL and the Associated Press (AP) came together to select the 100 greatest across five categories – Plays, Games, Characters, Game Changers and Teams. The 80-person blue-ribbon panel was comprised of experts selected by the AP and NFL Media.

 

Among the notable plays featured in the countdown 100-31:

  • Tony Dorsett’s record-setting 99-yard run against the Minnesota Vikings in the final regular season game of the 1982 season on Monday Night Football (January 3, 1983)
  • Bears TE Mike Ditka’s 63-yard run on 3rd and 35 versus the Steelers in 1963, one day after President Kennedy’s assassination
  • Titans RB Derrick Henry’s 99-yard run against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football (December 6, 2018)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger makes a touchdown-saving tackle on Colts CB Nick Harper following a goal-line fumble by Steelers RB Jerome Bettis in the 2006 AFC divisional playoff game
  • Broncos S Steve Atwater’s tackle of Chiefs RB Christian Okoye on Monday Night Football in 1990
  • QB Dan Marino’s fake spike against the New York Jets (November 27, 1994)
  • Vikings’ Jim Marshall runs the wrong way on fumble recovery against the 49ers (October 25, 1964)
  • Packers QB Aaron Rodgers’ Hail Mary touchdown pass to TE Richard Rodgers versus the Lions on December 3, 2015
  • Bills WR Don Beebe’s stops Cowboys DT Leon Lett from a touchdown Super Bowl XXVII
  • Oilers RB Earl Campbell runs out of his jersey against the Rams

 

For the NFL 100 Greatest series, NFL Films conducted more than 400 interviews with celebrities, current NFL stars and Legends that will air across 20, one-hour episodes with four episodes dedicated to each topic.
