Daniel Suarez captures pole for tonight’s Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart at Kentucky Speedway

The 9th Annual Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart race at Kentucky Speedway will be tonight at 7:30 pm.

The Busch Pole Award winner is Daniel Suarez, driver of the #41 Haas Automation Ford.

The car is owned by Gene Haas and the crew chief is Billy Scott.

The 27-year-old from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, earned the pole with a lap of 29.254 seconds, and 184.590 mph.

This is his second time on the pole in 91 career races in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series.

For the 2019 season, this is his first pole and eighth top-10 start.

The first pole for Suarez in three races at Kentucky Speedway.

Rounding out the top 4 in the Quaker State 400 starting lineup, Aric Almirola in the #10 Valley Tech Learning Ford; Brad Keselowski driving the #2 Discount Tire Ford and Kurt Busch in the #1 Monster Energy Chevrolet.

Last year’s race winner was also the Pole winner, Martin Truex, Jr.
