Soul losing streak reaches three with Week 5 loss to Baltimore

The Philadelphia Soul (2-3) dropped their third straight game on Sunday afternoon, losing to the Baltimore Brigade (3-2) 45-30 in front of a crowd of 4,079 at Royal Farms Arena. At 2-3, Philadelphia falls below .500 for the first time since the 2014 season.

Baltimore Brigade 7 14 14 10 45

While quarterback Dan Raudabaugh found Darius Prince for a 32-yard touchdown on the team’s opening possession, a missed extra point once again left the Soul chasing the game early. After trading scores throughout the first two quarters, Philadelphia entered the half down 21-20, the eighth straight game in which the team has trailed at the half. The Soul are now 2-6 in those contests.

While a Kenny Spencer field goal pulled the team within eight with just over four minutes to play, the Soul’s onside kick attempt on the ensuing kickoff was recovered by Baltimore. Three plays later, Brigade fullback Rory Nixon found the end zone for his second rushing touchdown of the day to put the game out of reach.

Quarterback Dan Raudabaugh finished just 15-34 (44.1%), his lowest completion percentage since July 26, 2014 vs the Pittsburgh Power. The Soul’s 30 points were also the team’s fewest in a game since losing to Baltimore 31-21 in May of 2018.
