Sometimes this game is Week 5, but in 2019, it is in Week #4, The Battle for the Bell! Walnut Ridge at Eastmoor Academy tonight on 1ST & GOAL from historic Archie Griffin Field.

The Scots look like the team to beat in the City South as they come in with a veteran team and a 3-0 record beating Mifflin, Watkins Memorial and Beechcroft.

The Warriors are much younger this year and only have 2 starters back. They come in at 1-2, beating Harvest Prep but losing to St. Charles and Granville.

Pittsburgh Penguins reduce training camp roster with Friday’s cuts

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reduced their training camp roster to 46 players, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

The following players have been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League:

F – Chase Berger
F – Jordy Bellerive
F – Jan Drozg
F – Ben Sexton
D – Matt Abt
D – Michael Kim
D – Jon Lizotte
G – Alex D’Orio
G – Dustin Tokarski

Defenseman Calen Addison has been returned to his junior team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League.

Pittsburgh’s current 46-man training camp roster includes 28 forwards, 14 defensemen and four goaltenders. Attached is an updated roster.

This weekend the Penguins will play back-to-back afternoon road games. First, Pittsburgh will head to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets on Saturday, September 21 and then travel to Detroit to take on the Red Wings on Sunday, September 22.

Blue Jackets ready for Saturday 2 pm affair hosting Penguins in Preseason Game 3

 

 

 

 

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Blue Jackets continue preseason play with a contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, September 21.  Game time from Nationwide Arena is 2 p.m.

Brad Larsen, Brad Shaw and Kenny McCudden will be behind the bench for the Blue Jackets.  The game can be viewed on NHL Network, BlueJackets.com or the FOX Sports Go app and heard on CD102.5 FM.

The preseason debuts of Cam AtkinsonPierre-Luc DuboisBoone JennerNick Foligno and Josh Anderson will take place in that game.

The five CBJ veterans will face the Penguins for the 2 p.m. faceoff along with such youngsters trying to make the team as Kevin StenlundAlexandre TexierTrey Fix-WolanskyEric Robinson and Kole Sherwood.

The Blue Jackets also will dress four NHL regular defensemen in their third preseason game in Scott HarringtonRyan MurrayDavid Savard and Markus Nutivaara. In net, Joonas Korpisalo and Matiss Kivlenieks, who backstopped the team for the opening preseason game Tuesday vs. Buffalo, will return to the ice.
