Savon Edwards Jr ran over and past Walnut Ridge (Toni Fisher photo)
In a highly anticipated rivalry match up and early Columbus City league South Division bragging rights the lighting would delay action. When the ball was finally kicked off, the Warriors struck first. Quarterback Marquise Laster got things going with a 40 yard touchdown to Napoleon Harris. The following drive by Walnut Ridge was a great answer. The Scots drove right down the field on the legs Sophomore running back Javarus Leach. Quarterback Isaiah Murphy would initially pound it in with a one yard touch down run. The Warriors would answer right back with Lester to Harris pass but Harris wouldn’t be the one that scored on that play as they run the hook and latter with running back Savon Edwards.
With the score being 14-6 headed to the 3rd quarter both teams would go back and forth and not allowing a score. The 4th became quite interesting. The Scots would score a touchdown on their first drive of the quarter with Jarvas Leach touchdown and Isiah Murphy would first find Kaylyn Anderson to tie the game at 14. Eastmoor kick returner Cameron Long would take the kick off 90 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was blocked. With 3 plus minutes to go in the ball game Walnut Ridge quarter back would lead his team to what would be a game tying touchdown. Murphy was 5 or 7 for 54 yards on the final drive for the Scots. All game long, the Scots had been kicking the ball deep but after tying the game at 20, a bad decision allowed the Eastmoor a chance to win the game in regulation. Tyree Grace-Sawyer, took the kickoff from his own 25 and ran it 42 yards to the Scots 33 and the Warriors were set up for a game winning 25-yard field goal. With 5 seconds to go in regulation the Scots would send the calvary but the alertness of holder Roshaun Harper gobbling up the bad snap on the field goal attempt and took it to the left corner of the end zone. The Warriors would knock off the The Scots 26-20. Eastmoor now controls their own destiny for a City League South Division Championship.

Next for Eastmoor is another Need for Speed game as they host Marion Franklin. For Isiah Murphy and the Scots they are back on the road to take on a struggling Briggs squad.
