Eastlake, Ohio—Lake County’s Jose Vicente belted two home runs and drove in three runs to lead the Captains to a 5-2 victory over the Dayton Dragons on Thursday night.  The win gave the Captains a sweep of the three-game series.

Lake County jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Oscar Gonzalez.  The Dragons battled back to tie the game in the second.  Montrell Marshall walked with two outs and Mark Kolozsvary followed with an infield single to third base.  Marshall scored on the play when the third baseman’s throw was wide of the bag and bounced into right field, and Kolozsvary went to third. Leandro Santana followed with a single to right to drive in Kolozsvary and tie the game at 2-2.

Jose Vicente clubbed two homers for Lake County

But Lake County jumped back ahead in the fourth on a two-run home run by Vicente, and he added a solo homer in the sixth to make it 5-2.  The homers were the sixth and seventh of the year for Vicente and gave him three in the three-game set with the Dragons.

The Dragons loaded the bases in the sixth inning on a pair of walks around a single by Michael Beltre, but they stranded three in the inning when John Sansone flied out to deep center field to end the threat.  The Dragons got lead off hits in the eighth and ninth but could not score.

Dragons starting pitcher Packy Naughton (3-6) worked the first four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with one walk and four strikeouts to suffer the loss.  Reliever Austin Orewiler allowed one run over two innings, and Dauri Moreta pitched two scoreless frames.

The Dragons finished with six hits.  Beltre was 2 for 4 and his triple in the ninth was the only extra base hit of the night for the Dragons.
