  • The Blue Jackets notched their seventh victory in the last eight games.
  • Columbus finished 8-4-1 in November.  The club’s eight wins in the month are tied for the second most in franchise history (8-4-0, Nov. 2010; 8-5-0, Nov. 2015) and the 17 points are also tied for second most in franchise history (7-4-3, Nov. 2009). The Jackets finished 9-2-3 (21 points) last November.
  • Tonight’s contest marked the third time in the past four meetings with the Hurricanes that the game was decided after regulation.
  • Columbus tied a franchise record with nine wins through the first 13 home games of a season (2016-17).
  • The Blue Jackets’ 33 points through 25 games is good for the second-most in club history (36 points, 2016-17).
  • Columbus improved to 4-0-0 in games decided after regulation at Nationwide Arena this season and a league-best 8-0-1 overall.
  • The Blue Jackets killed off one penalty tonight. The club has killed 31-of-33 penalties at Nationwide Arena this season (93.9%), including all penalties in 12 of 13 home games.
  • Columbus outshot Carolina 38-31, marking the 17th time in the first 25 games that the club has outshot its opponent.
  • The Blue Jackets have won two-of-three matchups against the Hurricanes this season. The season series will conclude with a matchup on December 16 at Carolina.



  • HC John Tortorella became the third coach in franchise history to win 100 career games, joining Todd Richards (127 wins) and Ken Hitchcock (125 wins).
  • RW Josh Anderson scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season and has recorded points in a career-high four-straight games (2-2-4).  He had recorded points in three-straight games from Oct. 21- 27 (2-1-3).
  • Pierre-Luc Dubois recorded his third assist of the season on Anderson’s goal.  He has notched points in two-straight games (1-1-2) and has 2-1-3 in his last five contests.
  • Zach Werenski scored his seventh goal of the season and added an assist on Anderson’s first period tally. He has now recorded three multi-point games this season (Nov. 2 at FLA, Oct. 13 vs. NYR) and leads all Blue Jackets defensemen with 14 points.
  • Alexander Wennberg returned to action for the first time since Nov. 11 at Detroit and collected his ninth assist of the season and played 16:56.
  • LW Sonny Milano notched his fifth assist of the season on Werenski’s second period goal.  He has notched 5-5-10 in 22 games this season, including 2-1-3 in two games vs. Carolina.
  • RW Cam Atkinson and LW Artemi Panarin each scored in the shootout.  Atkinson is one-for-two (50%) in the shootout this season while Panarin is three-for-four (75%).  Panarin’s three shootout goals are tied for the league lead (Perry).
  • Joonas Korpisalo earned his second win of the season.  He stopped 29-of-31 shots and surrendered zero goals in the shootout.
