Dragons complete 4-game sweep of Ft. Wayne with 4-2 win; 6-6 in MWL second half

The Dayton Dragons are having a successful season so far with an overall record of 47-35. They won a playoff berth in the first half of the Midwest League campaign but had found the going tough in the second half by starting out at 2-6. But a recently-completed series with Ft. Wayne has evened things at 6-6.

John Sansone hit a solo home run and Jose Siri continued his hot hitting with two hits to lead the Dayton Dragons to a 4-2 win over the TinCaps on Monday night. The win gave the Dragons a sweep of the four-game series at Dayton’s Fifth Third Field.

Jose Siri

Ty Boyles

Siri was 2 for 4 with a run scored and a stolen base as he extended his hitting streak to 11 straight games, the longest of the year for a Dayton player.

All of the Dragons four-game sweeps, totaling three for the season, have all been at home.  They are 30-14 at home.

Dragons starting pitcher Ty Boyles, coming off a nine-inning shutout in his last start, pitched well again to up his record to 5-2 on the season. He worked six innings, allowing just one run on eight hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
