NFL allows Pryor into supplemental draft with an exception

Terrelle Pryor (WAXX-TV photo)

The NFL announced this week that former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor can be eligible for the supplemental draft, which is schduled for Monday, August 22.

However, in allowing Pryor to join the list of players, Commissioner Roger Goodell also decided that the controversial athlete would be ineligible for the first five regular-season games of the 2011 season. It’s the same the punishment, Pryor would’ve suffered if he had stayed at Ohio State due to his part in the selling of memorabilia and accepting improper benefits.

The Commissioner also stated that Pryor cannot practice during that period of time, although he can play in the pre-season if drafted.

With London Warren graduating from the University of Dayton, it fulfills a promise he made after his grandmother passed away during his sophomore season.

For Rob Lowery, graduation is a blessing considering he is only one of two members of his family to have earned a college degree.

Graduation for Kurt Huelsman means continuing a family tradition. Huelsman becomes the fifth sibling in his family to earn a diploma from UD.

The seven Flyer seniors, Dan Fox, Luke Hendrick, Kurt Huelsman, Marcus Johnson, Rob Lowery, Mickey Perry and London Warren all walked across the stage on Sunday May 2, 2010 to receive their diplomas. The Class of 2010 will continue a long line of men’s student-athletes to graduate from Dayton.

Head coach Brian Gregory has a stunning record graduating all 23 seniors during his seven-year career as Dayton’s head coach.

For the record, the Dayton men’s basketball program has graduated every senior but one since 1979.
