COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS ANNOUNCE OPENING OF FOX SPORTS OHIO BLUE LINE STORE AT POLARIS FASHION PLACE

Blue Jackets player Pierre-Luc Dubois set to make in-store appearance on December 4 from 6-7 p.m.

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today the opening of a new FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line at Polaris Fashion Place in suburban Columbus. The new team store, which is located on the lower level near the children’s play area, is now open. To celebrate the opening, fans are invited to meet Blue Jackets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois on Wednesday, December 4 from 6-7 p.m. Additional appearances by Blue Jackets alumni, Stinger and other team personalities are to be announced.

 

To kick off the holiday shopping season on Black Friday, the Polaris store will offer the following limited-time deals beginning at 6 a.m. on Friday, November 29 and continuing throughout the day.

6-7 a.m.: 40% off all headwear

7-9 a.m.: 30% off novelties

9-11 a.m.: 20% off all apparel excluding jerseys

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: 10% off jerseys and 25% off personalization

 

The new store features a wide array of Blue Jackets jerseys, on-ice product, apparel, hats and novelty items for fans of all ages. The store also offers customized jerseys and serves as an additional pickup location for fans purchasing from TheBluelineOnline.com. Fans may also purchase tickets for Blue Jackets home games at the Polaris store.

The FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line at Polaris Fashion Place joins the flagship store at Nationwide Arena and the store at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing. All locations are operated by the Blue Jackets’ retail partner, Delaware North. The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Philadelphia Flyers. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. Blue Jackets announce several Black Friday Promotions

 

Online deals on game tickets as well as holiday items, experiences from club’s charitable foundation go live at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving night

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today the following Black Friday offers on game tickets, team merchandise and holiday-themed fundraisers. The Black Friday ticket and Foundation deals go live at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 28 and expire at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 1 or while supplies last. TICKETS

Single-game tickets with free food and beverage – $60 (lower level) and $30 (upper level) tickets include a hot dog, Pepsi, popcorn and OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rinks skate pass. This special offer applies to select games and purchases are limited per transaction.

Jackets continue revolving backup goaltenders; Merzlikins called up, Kivlenieks sent to Cleveland

NOVEMBER 27, 2019

 

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled goaltender Elvis Merzlikins from the Cleveland Monsters, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, and assigned goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks to Cleveland, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

 

Merzlikins, 25, made his NHL debut on October 5 at Pittsburgh and is 0-2-3 with a 3.54 GAA and .890 SV% in six outings with the Blue Jackets this season.  He also made his AHL debut with the Monsters on November 8 vs. Laval, stopping 28-of-30 shots in a 2-1 loss.  He picked up his first North American pro victory on Tuesday at Charlotte, stopping 28-of-29 shots in a 3-1 win.

 

A native of Riga, Latvia, Merzlikins registered a 105-79-7 record with a 2.68 GAA and .920 SV% in 210 career games with HC Lugano in the Swiss League (NLA) from 2013-19 and won the Jacques Plante Trophy as the league’s Goaltender of the Year in 2015-16 and 2017-18.  The Jackets’ third round pick, 76th overall, at the 2014 NHL Draft went 22-18-0 with a 2.44 GAA, .921 SV% and a career-high five shutouts in 43 outings with HC Lugano in 2018-19.

 

Kivlenieks, 23, is 6-1-2 with a 2.51 goals-against average and .903 save percentage in nine games with the Monsters in 2019-20.  The Riga, Latvia native has posted a 24-26-7 record, 3.20 GAA, .889 SV% and two shutouts in 66 career AHL outings with Cleveland since making his professional debut in 2017-18.

 

Signed by Columbus to an entry level contract on May 25, 2017, he was named the United States Hockey League Player of the Year and Goaltender of the Year in 2016-17 after leading the Sioux City Musketeers to the Anderson Cup (regular season championship) with a 36-7-6 record, 1.85 GAA, .932 SV% and five shutouts.
