«  LW Johnny Gaudreau recorded his team-leading fifth multi-point and third multi-assist game of the season with 0-2-2 to give him 1-7-8 in the last six outings and 2-9-11 in the past eight contests (overall 7-13-20 in 20 GP).  He improved to 4-10-14 in 13 career game against the Islanders, including four multi-point outings in the last seven games (3-7-10) and points in nine of the last 10 contests vs. the club (3-10-13).

BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets fell for a second consecutive game with tonight’s loss to the Islanders and are now 4-3-1 in the last eight games.  The club is also now 4-3-0 in the last seven games at Nationwide Arena.
  • Columbus moved to 9-10-2 vs. the Islanders since the start of 2016-17 but New York has won the last five outings (CBJ; 0-4-1).
  • The home team is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings of the series since Mar. 11, 2019.
  • The Blue Jackets killed off three-of-four of the Islander’s power play attempts tonight and have now killed off 22-of-26 attempts over the last 13 games (84.6 pct.) and 18-of-21 in the last 10 home contests (85.7 pct.).
  • With an assist from D Marcus Bjork,the club’s blueliners improved to 7-19-26 in the last 14 outings and 11-25-36 in 20 games this season.
  • The Blue Jackets scored two power play goals for the second time this season (also on Nov. 20 vs. FLA) and have now recorded power play goals in six of 10 games in November (32.0 pct.; 8-of-25).
  • CBJ have scored 28 goals in the past eight outings (3.50 per game).
  • With 1-2-3, the club’s rookies have now combined for 8-14-22 in 20 games.
  • Columbus is 10-7-1 in games played on the day after US Thanksgiving in franchise history and had its five-game win streak snapped with the loss.
