Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week – Walter Moak, Oberlin
Oberlin sophomore Walter Moak (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) placed second overall out of 110 runners and was the highest Division III finisher at the Wooster Invitational. The second-year clocked in with a four-mile time of 21:25.4, finishing just four seconds off the lead.

Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week – Isabelle Hoover, Wooster
Wooster senior Isabelle Hoover (Millersport, OH/Fairfield Union) was the top NCAC finisher at the season-opening Wooster Invitational at L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course. Hoover timed in at 16:00.2, finishing in fourth place among 90 participants in the 4K race.

Field Hockey Athlete of the Week – Allie Crawford, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan junior Allie Crawford (West Hartford, CT/Hall) scored a total of six goals in the Battling Bishops’ three season-opening victories. Crawford’s 12 points on the season has helped OWU to a 3-0 start for first time since 1989.

Offensive Football Athlete of the Week – Liam Thompson, Wabash
Wabash junior Liam Thompson (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) threw for a career-high 380 yards and amassed a total of 482 offensive yards in The Gentlemen’s Classic, giving the Little Giants a 52-48 victory over Hampden-Sydney. Thompson completed 23-of-37 passes including four touchdowns, while rushing for a game-high 102 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. His 482 yards of total offense ranked third-best in Division III for the opening weekend.

Defensive Football Athlete of the Week – Clay Denstorff, Denison
Denison senior Clay Denstorff (Perrysburg, OH/Perrysburg) recorded a sack, a forced fumble and a big 39-yard pick six to help lead the Big Red to a home victory over Capital under the lights on Saturday.

Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week – Krish Nayak, Wooster
Wooster sophomore Krish Nayak (Bangalore, India/Mallya Aditi International School) was the medalist at the season-opening Gatorade Collegiate. Nayak shot a 4-under-par 140 en route to helping the Fighting Scots win their home event for the first time in its eight-year history. Nayak birdied the last two holes on Sunday to finish with a 4-under 68, a total that tied for the fourth-lowest round in program history. Nayak is the second Scot since at least 1990 to finish under par for a 36-hole tournament.

Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week – Ada Pan, Wooster
Wooster sophomore Ada Pan (Shanghai, China/Lee Academy International) broke the program’s single-round scoring record in her Fighting Scots’ debut. Pan carded a 2-over-par 74 at Saturday’s Lynn Schweizer Invitational. Pan’s total is one stroke better than the old record, which was held by Hannah Appleman at 75. She tied for fourth place in the 84-competitor field at the rain-shortened event.

Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week – Sebastian Gaese, Kenyon
Kenyon senior Sebastian Gaese (Frankfurt am Main, Germany) racked up two goals and two assists en route to a 2-0 start for the No. 17 Owls while putting all three of his shots on goal. Gaese tallied five points, netting the team’s first two goals of the game and dishing an assist in Kenyon’s season-opening win over Ohio Northern. He then added an assist on the game-winning goal in Kenyon’s road victory over No. 16-ranked John Carroll.

Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week – Avery Maxeiner, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Avery Maxeiner (Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut) scored a goal in each of the Battling Bishops three games last week. Maxeiner scored early in the season opener against Kalamazoo, followed by tallying the game-winners in non-conference action against Penn State-Altoona and Westminster. The sophomore leads the NCAC in goals (3), points (6) and game-winning goals (2).

Women’s Volleyball Athlete of the Week – Cami Sweet, Oberlin
Oberlin sophomore Cami Sweet (San Diego, CA/HighTech) played a large role in helping the Yeowomen get off to a 2-1 start at the Great Lakes Crossover. Sweet accounted for 47.5 points over the three matches as she racked up 36 kills and 16 total blocks. Sweet had a career-high 15 kills in a five-set win over Eastern Mennonite while hitting an impressive .475 for the weekend.

NCAC Milestones & Records (Aug. 29 – Sept. 4)
