Toronto Blue Jays News: Acquires INF Tyler Keenan

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired INF Tyler Keenan from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for LHP Ryan Borucki.

Keenan, 23, has kept a .250 batting average while recording seven extra-base hits and 14 RBI in 25 games for High-A Everett this season. The 6-4, 250 lb. left-handed hitter was selected by the Mariners in the fourth round of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Mississippi. The native of Portsmouth, VA, has notched nine home runs and 58 RBI in his 89 career Minor League games while splitting time between first and third base.

Borucki, 28, held a 9.95 ERA through 11 outings for the Blue Jays this season. The Mundelein, IL, native was a 15th round pick by Toronto in 2012 and made his debut with the club in 2018. Over the course of five seasons, the 6-4, 210 lb. lefty has made 19 starts and 56 relief appearances en route to an 8-9 record and a 4.47 ERA.
