COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defensemen Adam Boqvist and Vladislav Gavrikov in the National Hockey League’s COVID-19 protocol, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.  Boqvist was placed on the list on Sunday and Gavrikov was added today.

The Falun, Sweden native was acquired by Columbus in a trade from the Chicago Blackhawks on July 23, 2021.  Originally drafted by Chicago in the first round, eighth overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft, the 6-0, 189-pound defenseman has registered 13-30-43 and 24 penalty minutes in 102 career contests with the Blue Jackets and Blackhawks since making his NHL debut in 2019-20.

Gavrikov, 26, has tallied 2-15-17 with 22 penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating, while playing in all 36 games for the Blue Jackets this season.  He has set career highs in assists and penalty minutes and is tied for the team lead in assists and ranks second in both penalty minutes and plus/minus rating (tied).

A native of Yaroslavl, Russia, Gavrikov has totaled 9-38-47 and 54 penalty minutes in 160 career regular season games with Columbus since making his NHL debut in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs.  The 6-3, 213-pound blueliner was selected by the Blue Jackets in the sixth round, 159th overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft.
