Cincinnati Bengals make Bye-Week roster moves

The Bengals made the following roster moves ahead of the bye week:

  • Acquired LB Clay Johnston on waivers from Carolina. Johnston (6-1, 232), a second-year player out of Baylor University, originally was a seventh-round pick of the L.A. Rams. He spent the 2020 offseason with the Rams, before joining the Panthers during the regular season. He has played in eight career games (all with Carolina), and has 10 tackles.
  • Placed S Brandon Wilson on the Reserve/Injured list. Wilson, a fifth-year player out of the University of Houston, suffered a left knee injury in Sunday’s game vs. Cleveland. He had played in every game this season (one start), and had three tackles on defense and three on special teams. He also averaged 22.4 yards on 13 kickoff returns.
  • Placed LB Akeem Davis-Gaither on the Reserve/Injured list. Davis-Gaither, a second-year player out of Appalachian State University, suffered a left foot injury in Sunday’s game at Cleveland. He had played in every game this season, and had 26 tackles, three PDs and a FF on defense, and two tackles on special teams.
  • Placed LB Markus Bailey on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
