CBJ TEAM NOTES

The Blue Jackets fell for the first time in the 2021-22 season with a 4-1 loss at Detroit on Tuesday… The club had started with wins in its first two games for the third time in franchise history (2014-15, 2009-10)… Columbus begins play against the Metropolitan Division on Thursday as the club plays four of the next five against division foes… CBJ have earned victories in their first two home games for the sixth time in franchise history (MR: 2017-18).  The team has won its first three home games of a campaign on two occasions (2009-10, 2003-04)… Columbus is one of five teams to rank in the top-10 in both power play and penalty kill percentage (Buffalo, Chicago, San Jose and St. Louis)… The Blue Jackets had the youngest season-opening roster in average age at 25.71.  New Jersey (25.74) was the only other team to have an average age of its roster younger than 26-years-old… Columbus also had the most diverse roster to open the season with 10 countries represented (Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Finland, Latvia, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA).
