FC Cincinnati News: Brenner named to 22 Under 22, Presented by BodyArmor

Brenner

FC Cincinnati forward Brenner was named to the MLSsoccer.com 22 Under 22, presented by BodyArmor, the league announced Tuesday. The 21-year-old Brazilian comes in at 14th on the list. The voting panel was made up by MLSsoccer.com staff, members of the MLS player department and external media. Voters were asked to rank their Top-22 players in order based on technical, tactical, physical and potential abilities.

In his first MLS season, Brenner leads FCC with seven goals, tied for the most in a single season in club history (Allan Cruz, 2019). He has added two assists and is the only player for the Orange and Blue to have started and played in all 28 games this year.

The top spot in the 22 Under 22 list was given to FC Dallas’ Ricardo Pepi, with Orlando’s Daryl Dike, New York City’s James Sands, LAFC’s Brian Rodriguez and LA Galaxy’s Julian Araujo, rounding out the top-five.

Brenner and FC Cincinnati continue a four-match homestand at TQL Stadium Saturday, October 16 against Orlando City SC. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on WSTR 64, streamed regionally on fccincinnati.com/stream, out of market on ESPN+, while an audio stream will be available via the iHeartRadio app.
