For the second straight season and third time in franchise history, the Lightning will open a campaign as defending Stanley Cup champions when they host the Penguins on another banner-raising night at AMALIE Arena.

* Tampa Bay looks to become the sixth team in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup in three or more consecutive seasons. Pittsburgh was the last club to attempt a “three-peat” – the Penguins won back-to-back championships in 2016 and 2017 before falling to the Capitals in the Second Round of the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

* The Lightning hold the NHL’s best points percentage in season openers (min. 10 GP), going 19-7-2 (.714) in 28 all-time contests. Defending Stanley Cup champions are 59-25-16 (100 GP) in season openers in NHL history.
